Permanent Hair Reduction

For many men and women, unwanted hair can be a nightmare. But it doesn’t have to be. Our IPL machine offers an advanced approach to permanent hair reduction.
Forget the time, cost, pain and mess associated with temporary methods and put an end to shaving rashes and ingrown hairs. Now is the time to consider a more permanent solution.
IPL technology is able to deliver greater power when needed thus ensuring longer, lasting results. Most importantly, however, it is a completely safe, clinically proven and painless treatment.

Skin Rejuvenation

Most people would like to improve their skin tone and texture to look more youthful. It’s a big ask as our skin is prone to excessive sun exposure and decreasing levels of collagen.
However, skin rejuvenation using IPL reverses skin damage without disrupting the skin surface and has the impressive capacity to treat multiple skin problems at the same time. For instance, broken blood vessels, discoloration, enlarged pores, freckles, rosacea and pigmentation, can all be addressed in the same treatment session. The other great benefit is that it improves your complexion by stimulating collagen production which naturally reduces the appearance of fine lines.

What is IPL?

IPL stands for ‘Intense Pulsed Light’ and is an advanced, clinically proven approach to permanent hair reduction and skin rejuvenation.

How does IPL hair removal work?

The client sits or lies in a comfortable position, and the trained technician guides the hand piece over his or her skin. Pulses of safe light are emitted that are attracted to the pigment in hair (melanin) converting it to heat. The heat is lead through the hair follicle and disables it, rendering it unable to produce a new hair. This patented technology transcends other older, more painful hair removal treatments to deliver longer lasting results.

Is IPL and laser the same?

No, however they do work in a similar way. Instead of a single beam targeting melanin absorption, IPL offers a broader wavelength and longer pulse width. This offers greater protection against skin burns often experienced with lasers and some other IPL machines. It also means that more skin and hair types can be treated.

How quick are treatments?

The beauty of IPL is that treatments are extremely fast. Larger areas such as back, shoulders, arms, legs can be treated quickly. For example, an entire back could be treated in less than 30 minutes, or bikini line in 15 minutes.

How long does the hair stay removed?

Follicles treated in the anagen phase are permanently disabled. Since hair grows in phases (anagen, catagen, telogen) follow up treatments are matched to these cycles to ensure permanent results.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients need 6 to 8 visits for permanent hair reduction, although most people see a significant reduction after only 3 treatments. Between 3 and 5 treatments are recommended for photo-rejuvenation, however you will see results after just one treatment.

What can IPL do for my skin?

Many skin conditions can be treated effectively. They range from repairing broken capillaries, smoothing out fine wrinkles, to repairing and/or removing rosacea, freckles, sunspots, telangiectasia, port wine stains, and other vascular and pigmented lesions.

Is IPL Safe?

Yes, is it very safe. Our therapists are fully qualified and experienced and they have completed additional advanced training courses. This shall ensure accurate diagnosis, correct treatment strategies and maximum comfort to you.

Is it painful?

No. Some people experience a mild sunburn sensation for a few hours afterwards. This is minimised by new, built in contact cooling technology.

Is IPL effective on all hair colours?

Yes, as long as the hair has some pigment. IPL will not be long lasting on white hair, no matter what other clinics may tell you.

Can I go straight back to work?

Yes.

What do I do before and after treatment?

You should not epilate or wax for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Post treatment clients should use a 30+ sunscreen and avoid unprotected sun exposure.

Are all IPL’s the same?

No. Absolutely not. IPL technology has been around for more than 10 years and it is only more recently that newer technology has improved the effectiveness, speed and comfort of such treatments. There are other devices at only a fraction of the cost, which are either painful, not powerful enough or not programmable to meet the varying needs of the client.
